Salut! Safety Policy
Effective 28 September 2026. Information updated 4 October 2026. This policy applies to members in the EU and United States.
Adults only and account checks
Salut is for people aged 18 or older. We use a self-reported birthdate and phone authentication as our age gate. We do not verify a government ID or independently confirm a member's age or identity. We may restrict an account if we receive credible evidence that its holder is underage or has supplied false information.
Prohibited content and conduct
Do not post, send, solicit, or engage in child sexual abuse material, grooming, exploitation, trafficking, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual coercion, threats, stalking, harassment, hate speech, impersonation, scams, requests for money under false pretenses, or any misconduct that threatens public or personal safety. Do not disclose another person's private information or arrange unsafe activities. Sexual conduct without the other person's consent violates this policy and criminal laws and may lead to criminal or civil liability.
Reports made maliciously, dishonestly, or for biased or other illegitimate reasons are also prohibited.
Report a person, message, photo, or activity
- In the app, open the member menu or long-press a message and choose Report. When viewing a photo or activity, use its safety menu.
- Choose the closest reason, identify the content where possible, and describe what happened. Include the relevant account, message, photo, activity, time, and any immediate risk.
- For illegal content or when you cannot use the app, email appsalut.fun@gmail.com with the content location, why you believe it is illegal, and a way to contact you. Avoid forwarding illegal imagery.
In-app reports receive a receipt number and a review outcome in Settings > Report & Safety. For email notices, we acknowledge receipt and provide an outcome or reason for a restriction where required by law. If you face immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Review, restrictions, and appeals
Reports are reviewed by an operator. Child exploitation and immediate threats receive urgent escalation. Depending on the facts, we may take no action, warn a member, remove content, suspend an account, or bar a member. We may preserve evidence and make legally required reports to competent authorities, including the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children when the law requires it. The person affected by an account restriction receives a reason in the app and can appeal in Settings > Report & Safety or by email. An operator reviews appeals and records the outcome.
We do not routinely notify every person who contacted a reported member merely because a report was received. We may contact affected members if a credible safety risk calls for it. When a fraud ban triggers a legal notice requirement, we notify eligible members who previously exchanged messages with the barred member as required by applicable law.
Safer dating practices
- Keep early conversations in the app, and do not send money or financial details to a person you met here.
- Meet for the first time in a public place, tell a trusted person where you are going, and arrange your own transport.
- Respect consent and leave if you feel unsafe. Block and report suspicious conduct.
- Be cautious of requests to move to another service, requests for verification payments, and profiles that pressure you to share private information.
Colorado resources
Colorado members who experience sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, or another crime can contact local emergency services, the RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline, the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and the Colorado Office for Victims Programs. For suspected online fraud, see Stop Fraud Colorado. These services are independent of Salut.
