Salut! Terms of Service

Effective 28 September 2026. Information updated 5 October 2026.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Salut. Before you create profile content or send messages, we ask you to affirmatively accept these Terms and record the version and time of acceptance.

Our age gate uses your self-reported birthdate and phone authentication. We do not independently verify identity or age. If we reasonably believe you are under 18 or gave false information, we may restrict your account.

SALUT DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS OR IDENTITY CHECKS ON MEMBERS. Read the Salut Safety Policy for reporting, appeals, safer dating advice, and Colorado resources.

2. Accounts and accurate information

You must provide accurate information, keep your account credentials secure, and use only accounts you are authorized to use. You may not impersonate another person, evade an enforcement action, or maintain accounts for fraud, abuse, or spam.

3. Zero-tolerance safety rules

4. Content, license, and moderation

You keep ownership of the content you upload, but you grant us the limited rights necessary to host, display, process, store, review, and moderate that content to operate, secure, and improve the service.

We may review, remove, restrict, preserve, or disclose content where we believe it violates these Terms, our community rules, user safety, or applicable law.

5. Personalized discovery

Salut places people who have sent you a Salut first in discovery while Personalized Discovery is on. You can turn this off in Settings and use recent activity order. This ordering is not an automated safety judgment about a member.

6. Reporting, illegal content notices, and appeals

If you see content or behavior that may be illegal or may violate these Terms, use the in-app report or block tools, or contact us through the public support page. We prioritize child safety, threats, impersonation, and other serious safety issues.

The Salut Safety Policy describes prohibited conduct, child-safety commitments, reporting channels, contact notifications, and escalation.

We may investigate reports, request more information, restrict visibility, remove content, suspend features, or terminate accounts. Where required by law, including applicable EU platform rules, we may provide a statement of reasons for certain moderation decisions and offer a way to appeal through our support channel.

7. Location and real-world safety

Nearby uses saved, rounded device locations to calculate approximate straight-line distance on the server. Members receive a whole-kilometre estimate, marked with ~ on Nearby tickets, rather than stored coordinates or a map pin. The 3 km label groups close distances together; it does not mean that a member is exactly 3 km away. Distances below 3 km display as 3 km, and discovery is limited to approximately 25 km. A changed distance reference is normally accepted at a 15-minute interval, so estimates may lag movement. Distance is not proof of someone's current whereabouts or travel time. Your stored location is not directly readable by other members through the app's database rules.

Nearby checks location while open in the foreground and before starting or extending Go Live. Reading Nearby or starting or extending Go Live requires a device fix captured less than 10 minutes ago. Updating location moves the live ticket's saved position too. An existing live session can remain visible at its last saved position until it ends; use Go Stealth or turn off live presence to hide it. Expired sessions are excluded from new discovery results. Nearby prioritizes approximate nearby areas; it does not promise that every page contains the globally closest members. Location approximation and request limits reduce precision and abuse, but cannot prevent all inference of an approximate area, including from cooperating accounts.

A scheduled Go Live ticket can appear in Nearby before its start time. Its distance uses the member's last saved rounded device position, not the future meeting place, and may change after a location update. Use Go Stealth or turn off live presence to hide a live or scheduled ticket.

Salut! is not an emergency, background monitoring, or physical security service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

8. Current pricing and usage limits

Salut! is currently free to use. Some features may have daily usage limits or similar anti-abuse controls. If paid features launch later, they will be clearly labeled and subject to applicable platform rules, consumer laws, billing disclosures, renewal terms, and cancellation rights.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. You may also request account deletion using the in-app tools or our public deletion resources.

We may suspend or terminate access when necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or prevent repeat violations.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Salut! is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Real-world interactions are solely between users. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated here and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the service.

11. Governing law and mandatory rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights or other legal protections that apply under the law of your country or region of residence.

12. Contact

For support, reporting, legal requests, or appeals, use the public support page, the Safety Policy, or email appsalut.fun@gmail.com. For account deletion, use the in-app tools or the account-deletion page.
